multi-turn Electric Actuators

Standard across the entire Hearken multi-turn electric actuator series, our dual-protection system gives you active mechanical and electrical safety under extreme conditions. The instant over-torque cut-off automatically shuts down motor power if a valve jams or meets high resistance—protecting the valve stem, drive nut, and gears from mechanical damage. At the same time, built-in sensors track core heat and trigger 120°C thermal protection to stop the motor, avoiding insulation breakdown and coil burnout during heavy-duty use.

Every Hearken multi-turn electric actuator is strictly tested before packing. We check raw materials, machining, wiring, assembly, and test 100% of finished units for electrical performance and torque.

Third-party inspection like SGS or BV is welcome. Certificates like ISO 9001, CE, EAC, RoHS, IP ratings, and ATEX/SIL 3 are available upon request.

Every unit has a laser-engraved serial number for easy tracking of test records and production batches. All products come with an 18-month warranty.

We require Material Test Reports (MTR) for all main raw materials, including aluminum housings, steel shafts, bronze gears, and other key parts. We test every batch with a spectrometer to check metal elements before machining. We also inspect raw parts for cracks, air holes, and size accuracy so only good components enter production.

We use high-pressure die-casting to make dense, solid aluminum housings with no air holes. Key parts like bearing seats and mounting flanges are precision CNC-machined. We also check shaft bore alignment so the gears run smoothly without noise or power loss under heavy load.

After powder coating, we re-tap all threaded holes on mounting flanges, conduit entries, and cover joints. This removes leftover paint powder so bolts go in smoothly and O-rings are not damaged, ensuring a tight seal during installation.

After housing assembly, we fill the unit with 0.2 bar compressed air and put it into a water tank. We check all joints and cable entries for air bubbles to guarantee a full dust- and water-proof seal.

We run 100% electrical safety testing on all multi-turn actuators. We test insulation resistance and high-voltage withstand to eliminate short circuits, and measure motor phase balance to prevent overheating and power loss under heavy load.

After electrical testing, every actuator gets full functional checks before packing. We check torque output, stroke position, limit switches, signals, and manual handwheel. This ensures every unit works perfectly with zero defects.

Each actuator is laser-engraved with a unique serial number that links to its test data and build history. We provide a detailed inspection report with every order and keep all records in our archive for long-term support.

Each actuator is wrapped in EPE foam, packed in a heavy-duty carton, and loaded into an export wooden crate for safe sea transport. We also place desiccant inside to prevent moisture during transit.

We know volume ordering means significant capital and tight deadlines on your side. That’s why we streamline your sourcing—offering transparent payment terms, a fast 15–25 day turnaround, and the OEM flexibility to build the actuator around your specs, not the other way around.

Advantage of Hearken Multi-turn Electric Actuators

    Maintenance-Free Drive & Double-Sealed Housing

Designed with a factory-sealed, lifetime-lubricated gear box and a separate terminal box, Hearken multi-turn electric actuators cut out the need for routine greasing. This design keeps moisture and dust out of the main electronics during site wiring and inspections.

    Leak-Free Manual Override Mechanism

Designed with a new double-seal system at the handwheel shaft, Hearken multi-turn electric actuators stop the annoying oil leaks common in standard manual overrides. This keeps the unit clean and gives you smooth, effortless manual control during power outages or setup—without risking any damage to your valves.

Standard ISO & JB Flange Mounting for Quick Valve Assembly

Built to fit standard valve stems without hassle, Hearken multi-turn electric actuators feature ISO 5210 / JB flanges and custom drive sleeves. They drop directly onto your valves with precise alignment, while built-in torque sensing protects against stem damage and cuts your assembly labor.

    Integrated Over-Torque & Stem Protection

Hearken multi-turn electric actuators use bi-directional torque switches and electronic sensors to track drive load in real time. If a valve jams or overloads, power cuts immediately—capping torque at up to 3,000 Nm to keep valve stems from shearing and avoid motor burnouts under high pressure.

Native Fieldbus & Industrial Network Integration

Hearken multi-turn electric actuators natively support Profibus, Modbus, HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, and DeviceNet right on the mainboard. With no external gateways needed, they deliver seamless, two-way communication for real-time status monitoring, remote configuration, and advanced diagnostic data straight to your DCS/PLC system.

Extreme Thermal Adaptability (-40°C to +100°C Options)

Standard Hearken multi-turn actuators are rated for ambient lows of -30°C and highs up to +70°C. For severe sites, optional factory thermal builds extend operation down to -40°C and up to +100°C. Internal drive gearing and control electronics maintain stable torque output and signaling in extreme freezing or high-heat processing yards.

    Configurable Ingress Protection (IP65 / IP67 / IP68)

To precisely match diverse site conditions and budget requirements, Hearken multi-turn electric actuators feature configurable enclosure protection ratings, ranging from IP65 for standard dust-tight and rain-exposed outdoor setups, to IP67 for heavy washdown environments, up to heavy-duty IP68 for continuous submersion in flooded pits and underground valve vaults.

Standardized Drive Sleeve Options (ISO 5210)

Hearken multi-turn electric actuators offer versatile drive configurations with ISO 5210 standards.
Type A thrust stem nuts handle heavy axial loads for gate and globe valves. Meanwhile, Type B/C torque sleeves perfectly fit non-rising stem valves and secondary gearboxes perfectly. This precise mechanical pairing eliminates installation risks, adapts to any valve stem design, and reduces stock costs by matching multiple valves with a single actuator model.

            FAQ

It’s a motorized device that generates torque to control valves or gates. It is specifically designed for systems that need multiple full rotations to fully open or close.

They fit gate and globe valves of all sizes, especially for large-diameter valves.

It depends entirely on your valve’s thread pitch and opening height. You will need to calculate this based on your specific valve parameters.

During setup, you just need to configure the stroke limits, torque limits, and control parameters. This ensures everything runs smoothly.

During debugging, you have to set the stroke limits, torque limits, and control parameters. This ensures the actuator operates normally.

No. Under standard configurations, the display will not light up without the main power supply.

Yes, we can customize this for you. We can equip the actuator with a battery backup module to power the display when disconnected.

Yes, we do. Our HMT and HMT(R) series models meet the IP68 standard and support both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Yes, it allows you to drive valves requiring higher torque. But let’s clarify the mechanics simply: The actuator’s rated output torque stays exactly the same. The worm gear simply acts as a speed reducer that multiplies that torque. In short, the reducer steps down the valve’s high torque demand to match what the actuator can handle.

Yes. All Hearken Flow electric actuators have built-in thermal protection to prevent overheating and motor damage.

What is the difference between quarter turn and multi turn actuators?

Range of Motion: A Tale of 90 Degrees vs Multiple Turns

            Quarter-Turn Actuators
Range: Limited to a 90-degree turn.
Action: Ideal for opening and closing valves in a snap, literally with a quarter turn.
            Multi-Turn Actuators
Range: Multiple 360-degree turns, offering a broader range of motion.
Action: Useful for valves that require more rotations to reach their fully opened or closed positions.

Applications: Where Each Finds its Home Turf

            Quarter-Turn Actuators
Valve Types: Mainly used for ball, plug, and butterfly valves.
Industries: Widely seen in HVAC systems, chemical plants, and water treatment facilities.
            Multi-Turn Actuators
Valve Types: Commonly employed for gate, globe, and pinch valves.
Industries: Often used in power plants, dams, and any other application requiring a high level of torque over several turns.

Speed & Efficiency: Quick Sprints vs Steady Marathons

            Quarter-Turn Actuators
Speed: Faster operations due to limited range.
Efficiency: Consumes less energy for short, quick actions.
            Multi-Turn Actuators
Speed: Generally slower due to multiple rotations needed.
Efficiency: May consume more energy but can generate higher torque.

Control & Feedback: The Brains Behind the Brawn

            Quarter-Turn Actuators
Control: Often comes with built-in positioners and sensors for precise control.
            Multi-Turn Actuators
Control: Usually feature more sophisticated control options to monitor multiple turns, making them suitable for complex applications.
